Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, rated 20 out of 30 according to the Urine Feces Everywhere (UFE) team. Not bad Detroit. You just made the group, “Best of the Best”. You are actually beating the White Sox; their UFE rating is 12. Why do you think that your “nouveau riche” stadium did not score the highest, 30? It is simple; your washrooms are not updated to protect your fans from the spread of urine and feces and the food handling is spreading UFE even more. Shame on you; your entire park was built to ensure your fans have the best possible baseball experience, and you forget about protecting them from disease!
Your seating has changed from your old field, Tiger Stadium, where clear viewing seats were in the 10,000 range, leaving 40,000 or so as not good viewing seats. Now your stadium not only has the best behind home plate seats in the MLB, but basically every seat is a good one. You even have a giant waterfall behind center field and a Ferris wheel for the kids. You are high tech now with a new scoreboard and LED display. You upgraded your concessions, vending, restaurants, clubs, special seating, retail shops, picnic areas and entertaining bleacher fare, all for your dedicated fans. So why didn’t you upgrade the sanitation in your concession and condiment areas? Why didn’t you make your restrooms with more automatic touch-less options? If you really loved your dedicated fans you would have protected them from the things that they cannot see!
